Grenoble, France, Wednesday, June 5th, 2008

New from ECM, constructor of Industrial furnaces:

For more than 10 years, ECM has been confirming their worldwide leadership in the construction of Low Pressure Case Hardening Furnace for automotive mass production and provides an efficient Service throughout the world (Europe, Japan, USA, Latin America, China etc.). Over 130 installations of this type are currently in service in the 5 continents of the world. this acknowledged know-how is the result of 50 years of experience in the design of vacuum furnaces used in high added value heat treatment applications. Today, there is plenty of good news that allows ECM to look forward to the future with optimism and ambition:

  • First of all, a healthy order book for its core business in fields as diverse as aeronautics, heat treatment contract work, manufacturers of motor vehicles and heavy vehicles and their equipment suppliers;

  • ECM's leadership in emerging countries has been confirmed by a new order from China for a factory processing automatic gearbox pinions;

  • FNAG, ECM Joint venture in nuclear, start a project from a consortium headed by Areva for the USA for developing a nuclear waste reprocessing furnace.

In view of its success in Japan over the past 5 years, ECM has just upgraded its office there into a subsidiary: ECM Japan Ldt. Invigorated by this success and its recently confirmed ISO 9001 status, ECM will soon be offering its clients the benefits of its recent investments, delivered by its latest technologie

  • A new test platform in Grenoble and a metallurgy laboratory dedicated to Low Pressure Case Hardening and to Thermo-chemical processes.

  • A new prototype Low Pressure case Hardening furnace for mass production, a patented and highly innovative design that will be inaugurated in October 2008.

Finally, in order to consolidate its know-how on the market of furnaces producing photovoltaic silicon bars (the first furnace was delivered in 1984 !), in Autumn 2008, ECM will be inaugurating a test platform for producing 400 Kg bars (equivalent to more than 6 Mega Watt of PV cells per annum)
